If you're searching for a visual feast this Christmas season, the DIOR Christmas window display is absolutely worth a visit! This year, DIOR once again pushes the boundaries of imagination, transforming the humble medium of paper into an awe-inspiring work of art.
This year's DIOR Christmas window takes paper sculpture as its star, turning the simplest of materials into the most vivid expressions of life. The most astonishing part? Every single element — from majestic lions and lively monkeys to graceful deer, from floating seahorses to swaying starfish and coral — is entirely handcrafted using exquisite paper-sculpting techniques. Each petal, strand of mane, and coral texture comes alive under the artisans' masterful touch.
The entire Christmas window display transports viewers into a fairytale dreamscape. In the land-themed section, majestic lions and playful monkeys frolic among lush blooms, while elegant deer and mythical unicorns lead visitors into an enchanted forest. Just a step away, one dives into a serene underwater realm — delicate seahorses and seashells glide through coral gardens, as cheerful crabs raise their claws in welcome. Together, they form a world both realistic and fantastical.
Built-in lighting dances gracefully among the animals, flowers, and coral — like a magician's fingertips casting spells of light. Wherever the light touches, every texture becomes more refined and every curve more fluid. The entire display seems to come alive. As the lights illuminate, the paper-sculpted creatures awaken, bringing the Christmas dreamland to life before your eyes.
The background wall is crafted with UV relief printing technology, creating a three-dimensional embossed texture that complements the foreground paper sculptures. Unlike standard flat printing, UV relief printing builds up layers of UV-cured ink to produce tactile raised surfaces — adding real depth and a premium feel that mirrors the intricate handwork of the sculptures in front of it. The intricate embossed details blend seamlessly with the layered flora and fauna, forming a harmonious and sophisticated visual experience.
From creative concept to sampling and production, each DIOR Christmas window is the result of the dedication and craftsmanship of both design and production teams. For this project, Gimsun was responsible for the UV relief printing background panels and the production of the handcrafted paper sculpture props — bringing precision manufacturing to every petal, texture, and curve. We poured our hearts into every detail to bring this dreamlike world to life.
